He was born in Williamsport, PA on August 30, 1955, a son of Earl and Barbara (Williams) Haines. Monte graduated from Brunswick High School in 1974 and had worked at Suscom for 16 years. He had also worked at BIW, a boatyard in Woolwich, and had also painted houses. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing chess. He married Jackie Esztergalyos on July 27, 1996. Monte is predeceased by his mother in 2003; and a sister, Kathy Jo Barnes in December 2009. Besides his wife of Brunswick; he is survived by his father of Topsham; two stepdaughters, Heather Winter of Jay, and Tamera Eads of Missouri; two brothers, Kirk Haines of Bath, and Randy Haines of Bowdoin; a sister, Marlene Osentoski of Texas; and five grandchildren.
