Name: Dr. Donald D. Kalvoda Date: June 16th, 1952 - July 9th, 2010 Obituary: Dr. Donald D. Kalvoda, age 58 of Durham Road, died Friday July 9, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Northville, Michigan on June 16, 1952, the son of Joseph and Helen (Marcoe) Kalvoda and spent his childhood in Plymouth, Michigan. He married Sharon Widing on August 13, 1972. He was a graduate of Andrews University in Michigan and received his Medical Degree in Orthopedic Surgery from Loma Linda University in California. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1985, when he and his family moved to Brunswick. Besides his practice as an Orthopedic Surgeon, he had also owned and operated Victoria’s Bakery in Brunswick. Dr. Kalvoda was a member of the Brunswick Seventh Day Adventist Church and his faith was very important to him. He enjoyed gardening, music, baking, spending time with his grandchildren and mission work. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him. He had touched the lives of so many in the community and around the world. He is predeceased by his mother, and a sister, Geraldine McLean. Surviving are his wife of Brunswick; a daughter, Autumn (Kalvoda) Poole of St. Joseph, MI; a son, Aaron Kalvoda of Durham, ME; his father of Olympia, WA; a sister, Dr. Sandra Ritland; and two grandchildren.
