Harpswell—Betty Lucille Lindgren, 89, formerly of Brunswick, died June 2, 2010 in residence at Vicarage by the Sea.
She was born May 13, 1921 in Chicago, IL a daughter of Bernard and Laura Finn Hannah. She was a graduate of Chicago State Teachers College. She married Carl L. Lindgren in Chicago on July 22, 1944. Mr. Lindgren died July 24, 1996.
Mrs. Lindgren had been a school Principal in Kodiak Alaska and a teacher at the Union Street School, Brunswick, before electing to be home with her children. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and engaging in various crafts including flower arranging. While a resident of Brunswick, the Lindgren’s were members of the Pleasant Street Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son Dexter Lindgren and his wife Judy of Hanover, MD; a daughter Gail Lindgren Moffat of Brunswick; a sister, June Taylor of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Andrew Lindgren of Glen Burnie, MD, Susan Hendrickson and her husband Adam of Clarksville, TN, David Moffat and his wife Heather of Brunswick; a great grand-daughter Sophie Hendrickson of Clarksville, TN.
