Obituary:
Brunswick--Jon M. Dunning, 68, of 42 Pleasant Street, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 in Hudson, FL He was born in Portsmouth, NH, June 13, 1941, the son of Elmer and Dorothy Tinker Dunning. He attended Brunswick schools. Jon served in the U.S. Army for 8 ½ years, with two tours in Vietnam. He married Judy Hayes Murphy in Brunswick, August 28, 1994. He was a tractor trailer owner-operator for 18 years, prior to driving for 20 years for Maine Line Tours. Mr. & Mrs. Dunning have owned and managed, the Tourist Inn on Pleasant Street since 1990. They have wintered in Florida for the past 22 years. Jon also worked for Kerry and Maria Kessel in Harpswell for several years. He was a member of United Lodge #8 of Brunswick, the Scottish Rites, Valley of Portland, Kora Temple Shrine, Brunswick Lodge of Elks, American Legion Post 202, Topsham, Disabled American Veterans and Electa Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife of Brunswick; three daughters, Frances Dunning and her husband Mark Pohl? Of NY and Mary Dunning and Jacquelinena Dunning both of CA; two stepchildren, Michael Murphy of Cundy’s Harbor and Shelley Murphy of Brunswick; a sister, Kay Dunning of CA; a grandson, Nicki Roberts, 4 step grandchildren, Emily, Corey, Brianna and Kelley and several nieces and nephews.
