Lucile Helen Card, age 86, formerly of Bath, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Mid Coast Senior Health Center.
She was born in Bryan, Ohio on April 14, 1923, the daughter of Paul Wilbert and Bernice (Wertz) Howard.
She graduated from Bryan High School in 1941 and from Business College International in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1943.
She married George C. Card on February 8, 1946 in Fort Wayne, and they raised their two boys in Bryan, Ohio. They moved to Bath in 1970 coming from Ohio, and wintered in Lake Placid, Florida for many years after moving to Maine. Lucile was a homemaker most of her life, was a member of the Extension Homemaker’s Club in Ohio and Maine for over 30 years and was a member of the Eastern Star and a recipient of their 60 year pin. She also was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Bryan, Ohio, the Pittman-Morrison VFW Post#7738 Auxiliary where she was a Life Member, the Mothers of World War II, the Bath Senior Citizens since 1981, and was a member of the Corliss Street Baptist Church in Bath.
She is predeceased by her husband who died on February 26, 2004.
Surviving are her sons, James P. Card and his wife, Mary of Topsham, and Clifford C. Card and his wife Ann Marie of Sebring, Florida; her brother, Denver Charles Howard of Fort Wayne, Indiana; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and nine step great grandchildren.
