Obituary:
Brunswick, Maine – Douglas A. Fisher, age 58 of Brunswick, died Friday, February 19, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Norwood, Mass on October 8, 1951, a son of Allyn H. and Elizabeth Ann Rein Fisher. He attended Norwood schools and graduated from Norwood High School. He then attended Northeastern University where he completed his undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering. He then earned his Masters Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Doug worked at McGraw-Edison for a time before working for Exxon where he traveled all over the world. He then worked at New England Electric and Central Maine Power Company. He had lived in Brunswick for 10 years coming from central Massachusetts. He was a communicant of All Saints Parish, St. Charles Borromeo Church, and was involved in a local cancer support group. In his younger years, Doug was a ham radio operator. He also played the saxophone, enjoyed reading, and traveling with his wife Barbara. He is predeceased by his wife Barbara (Formato) Fisher who died in 2004, his father in 2003, and a brother, Wayne Fisher in 1980. Surviving are his two sons, Brian Fisher and his wife, Marion of Westborough, Mass, and Danny Fisher and his wife Lindsay, of Portland; his mother of Walpole, Mass; a brother, Scott Fisher and his partner Mike Cordeiro of Walpole, Mass; and three grandchildren, Michael, Mary Jane and Ethan Fisher. He is also survived by his first wife, Ellen (Snow) Fisher of Summerfield, FL.
