"Betty" Moody Date: July 11th, 1921 - October 31st, 2009 Obituary: Elizabeth E. “Betty” Moody, age 88 of Brunswick, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Glenridge Living Center in Augusta. Betty was born in Augusta on July 11, 1921, a daughter of Harold and Helen Bagley Ormsby. She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1939 and completed the Nazarene course of study for ministry. She worked in Brunswick at Woolworth’s for a number of years and owned the Lighthouse Christian Bookstore at various locations in Brunswick. The bookstore was her passion and she also helped build up church libraries in the area. She also did video ministries at Augusta nursing homes. Betty was a member of the Augusta Nazarene Church and attended the Berean Baptist Church. She also preached at several churches in the area. She is predeceased by her husband, Ralph Stone Moody who died in January of 2000. Surviving are her five children, Lois Hancock of Augusta, Dorothy Moody of Brunswick, Harold Moody of Augusta, Helen Becker of Brunswick, and Joyce Lang of Florida; her sister, Lois Hafler of Quakertown, PA; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
