Obituary:
Herbert F. Hendricks of Lisbon Falls, died at home on Friday, July 3, 2009 at the age of 71. He was born on July 30, 1937 in Henning, MN. He was one of nine children to Francis and Emma Thiede Hendricks. After graduating from Motley High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy. On January 30, 1960 he married Gloria Fridgen. She predeceased him on August 19, 2006. After serving proudly for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, he retired in 1975 and moved to Aitkin, MN where he became a dairy farmer. He returned to Maine in 1984 and eventually became a lobsterman until 2005. He married Gloria Hric of Lisbon Falls on June 16, 2007 and together they built a new home in the same town. He was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Brunswick; and the American Legion of Topsham. Herb was an avid outdoorsman who loved snowmobiling, hunting, four wheeling, especially in Northern Maine and was a member of the Red Arrow Snow Mobile Club in St. Agatha. He is predeceased by a brother, Robert Hendricks. Surviving are his wife of Lisbon Falls; a daughter, Deborah Shupp and her husband, Greg of Lake Stevens, Washington; three sons, Anthony and his wife, Diane of Lebanon, NJ, Daniel of Lisbon Falls, and Clifford and his wife, Mary of Wiscasset; four brothers, Harvey of Brainerd, MN, Bernard of Motley, MN, Arthur of Eagan, MN, and Donald of Bloomington, MN; three sisters, Helen Bock and Florence Nelson, both of Brainerd, MN, and Martha Killian of Otsego, MN; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM Thursday, July 9 at the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Church, McKeen Street, Brunswick. Interment with military honors will be held at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta at 1PM Tuesday, July 14, 2009.
