Name: Gary Gaydos Date: June 11th, 2009 Obituary: Harpswell—Gary John “Pa Smurf” Gaydos, 62, of Hildreth Road, died unexpectedly, Thursday, June 11, 2009 at a local hospital. He was born in Lewiston, November 19, 1946, the son of John and Katherine Karsmar Gaydos. He graduated from Lisbon High School and received an engineering degree from Maine Maritime Academy in 1969. He was commissioned as a Lt. JG and later became a Lt. in the U.S. Navy. He married Suzanne I. Moody in Lisbon Falls, Sept. 25, 1971. Mr. Gaydos was employed as a 2d Marine Engineer for Sunoco Oil from 1969 to 1994. He has recently been employed at Foreign Auto in Harpswell. Gary enjoyed bowling, cooking, gardening, camping, hunting and taking care of his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of Harpswell; three sons, Matthew G. Gaydos and his fiancé, Jeannette Morissette of Wales, Randall J. Gaydos and Gaven T. Gaydos both of Harpswell; a brother, John Gaydos and his wife, Terry of S. Portland; three grandchildren, Giavanna, Logan and Gabrielle; and many nieces and nephews.
