Please accept my deepest sympathies. Eugenia was one of warmest and most inviting people I've ever met. On many occassions, I stepped in the H-L library with a question or a problem that I didn't know how to start. She would sit down and help me work through all of the tangles and knots that I hadn't even noticed. She genuinely cared about students-- from the minute a student started speaking with her, Eugenia embraced the individual as a friend. We were lucky to have had her help, support, intelligence, sense of humor, and kindness. She will be missed and lovingly remembered.

| I met Eugenia briefly through emails and in person when I was interviewing for a position with the library. She had a very friendly spirit and was very welcoming during my visit at Bowdoin -my condolences to her family, and the staff at H-L Library.
